Section 66. Offence not prescribed or for which punishment not provided.

(1) Without prejudice to the provisions of any other written law, the Court may impose sentence on a person who commits an offence under Hukum Syara' which is not provided for in this Enactment and, on conviction, such person shall be liable to a fine not exceeding one-thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both.

(2) Any person who commits an offence against any law, rule or regulation which provides for offences within the jurisdiction of the Syariah Court, if no penalty is expressly provided therefor may, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding two thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.
