PART III - PROPERTY AND FINANCE OF MAJLIS
General Administration Fund and Zakat and Fitrah Fund



Section 70. Power in relation to property under the control of the Majlis.

(1) Save as otherwise provided in this Enactment, the Majlis may, with the consent of His Royal Highness the Sultan, sell, charge, lease, mortgage, enter into joint venture, transfer, alter, renounce or make any other agreement regarding any immovable property under its charge for the purposes of this Enactment, whether it forms part of the General Administration Fund or not.

(2) Save as otherwise provided in this Enactment, the investments, income and any fund controlled by the Majlis may be sold, be valued or be set-off and it together with its income can be invested from time to time as is approved by any written law for the time being in force for the investment of trust money or in any or on any right in immovable property situated in the State.

(3) The Majlis shall have the power to borrow money, whether by charging any of the assets in the General Administration Fund or not, or in any manner as it thinks fit, after it has obtained consent of His Royal Highness the Sultan and any money that is borrowed in that way shall form a part of the General Administration Fund.
