CONTROL OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS (MALACCA) ENACTMENT 2002

PART II - REGISTRAR, DEPUTY REGISTRAR, ETC.

Section 4. Power, function and duty of Registrar.

(1) The Registrar shall, subject to the direction and control of the Registrar, perform the functions and duties imposed and exercise the powers conferred upon him under this Enactment which shall include the following:

(a) to ensure that all religious schools in the State of Malacca are properly administered;

(b) to ensure that the Majlis is at all times informed of the affairs of all religious schools in the State of Malacca;

(c) to keep or cause to be kept a register of all religious schools registered under this Enactment and shall be recorded into the register particulars of all religious schools including-

(i) the names and addresses of the schools;

(ii) the members of the Board;

(iii) the curriculum of the schools; and

(iv) any other information as the Registrar deems necessary to be recorded.

(2) The Deputy Registrar and Assistant Registrar appointed under section 3 shall be under the direction and control of the Registrar.

(3) The Registrar may delegate to a Deputy Registrar any of his powers, functions or duties under this Enactment, and when so delegated such powers, functions or duties shall be exercised or performed by the Deputy Registrar under the control and subject to such directions and restrictions as may be specified by the Registrar.

(4) A delegation under subsection (3) may be revoked at any time by the Registrar and shall not prevent the Registrar from himself exercising the delegated power, function or duty.
