Section 173. To pay receive payment of zakat or fitrah to or by person without authority.

Whoever is liable to pay zakat or fitrah, pays to a person not an Amil and whoever is not an Amil receives or collects such payment shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding fibe hundred ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or to both.
