PART III - PROPERTY AND FINANCE OF MAJLIS Zakat and Fitrah
Section 58. Fitrah.
(1) The head of a family or any person who is liable for the members of a household who are Muslims in the State shall be liable to pay fitrah for himself and his dependants out of which two third of the total number of his dependants shall be paid to the Majlis.
(2) The fitrah shall be at the rate of one gantang Baghdad which is equivalent to three and one eight cupak according to local calculation or about two kilo, and six hundred and eighty five grammes.
(3) Payment of fitrah may be exempted on grounds of poverty and the amil may if he is satisfied regarding the condition of such person as confirmed by any pegawai masjid in his mukim exempt such person from paying fitrah.
(4) The amil shall make a report to the Majlis stating the reasons such person is exempted from paying fitrah.
