PART IV - GENERAL PROCEDURE

Section 27. Summons to give evidence or produce documents.

(1) Subject to the provision of any written law, the Court may issue a summon to any person to give evidence or to produce any document in his possession or under his authority. Every such summon shall be served personally and any person so served, whether a Muslim or not, shall be bound to comply therewith.

(2) Every such summon shall specify the subject matter or documents if any, which are required to be produced by the witness.

(3) The Court may, before issuing such summon, order the payment of a reasonable travelling and subsistence allowances to any witness.
