Section 90. Appointment of Wali Hakim.

(1) His Royal Highness, the Sultan may on the advice of the Majlis, appoint any person to be Wali Hakim for the area as specified in his Tauliah.

(2) A Wali Hakim holds office at the pleasure of His Royal Highness the Sultan and shall be subject to the same conditions as are provided in subsection (3) of section 40.

(3) A Wali Hakim shall have powers as are allowed by Hukum Syara'

and shall maintain registers relating to their duties according to the procedure made by the Registrar and to use forms as prescribed under the authority of this Enactment.

(4) A Wali Hakim shall when performing his duties be responsible to the nearest Deputy Registrar and shall comply with all regulations made under this Enactment.

(5) A Wali Hakim who does not receive remuneration as a full time employee may take all the fees paid to him as Wali Hakim for his personal use but shall only be entitled to half of the total fees collected for each month if he is a fulltime employee.
