Section 55. Certificate of distribution.
(1) If, in the course of any proceedings relating to the administration or distribution of the estate of a deceased person and such distribution shall have to be in accordance with Hukum Syara' , and any Civil Court or authority which is conducting the proceedings shall be under a duty to determine the persons entitled to share in the estate, the Court of a Kadi, in cases, where the gross value of the estate does not exceed ten thousand ringgit and the Court of the Kadi Besar in other cases, may, on the request of such Civil Court or authority, or on the application of any person claiming to be a beneficiary and on payment by him of the prescribed fee, certify, upon any set of facts found by such Civil Court or authority, its opinion as to the persons who are entitled to share.
(2) The Court of the Kadi Besar or of a Kadi, before so certifying its opinion under subsection (1) may hear the parties on any question of law, but shall not hear evidence or make finding on any question of fact.
(3) In any case of special difficulty, the Kadi Besar or a Kadi refer the question to the Majlis for its opinion, and shall, if such opinion be given, certify it in accordance therewith.
