ENACTMENT NO. 5 OF 1992 ADMINISTRATION OF THE SYARIAH COURT ENACTMENT 1991
PART II - ADMINISTRATION
Section 6. Appointment of Syariah High Court Judge, Pendakwa Syarie and Registrar.
(1) The Ruler after consultation with the Majlis may appoint
(a) the Chief Syarie Judge, and Syariah High Court Judge for such areas as are fixed;
(b) Pendakwa Syarie and so many Timbalan Pendakwa Syarie;
(c) Registrar of the Appeal Committee and Registrar of the Mahkamah Chief Syarie Judge and Mahkamah Kadi.
(2) All appointments under sub-section (1) shall be for a fixed period and shall be notified in the Gazette.
(3) The Ruler may from time to time grant, alter, restrict or revoke any letter of appointment made under sub-section (1) of this section and may restrict the exercise of any of the powers which would otherwise be conferred by this Enactment.
(4) Save as aforesaid, the jurisdiction, authority and powers of the Chief Syarie Judge and Syariah High Court Judge shall be such as are conferred by this Enactment or by any other written law.
