PART VIII - RELIGIOUS EDUCATIONS

Section 112. The Religious Education Advisory Committee.

(1) The Majlis shall appoint a committee to be known as the Religious Education Advisory Committee to study all aspects of Islamic religious education needs, which shall consists of-

(a)

the Mufti who shall be the Chairman;

(b)

not less than three other members to be appointed by the Majlis .

(2) The Secretary of the Majlis shall be the Secretary of the Committee and shall be responsible for implementing the decision of the Committee.

(3) The Committee shall have power to grant authorisation letters for the purposes of teaching on any aspect of the religion of Islam and to withdraw such authorisation letters.

(4) The Majlis may determine and issue directive to the Committee in respect of-

(a)

the procedure, requirements and other matters relating to the granting of an authorisation letter under this section, including the prescribed fees;

(b)

the procedure of the Committee; and

(c)

the allowances payable to members of the Committee.
