PART XII - GENERAL PROCEDURE

Section 236. Counsels.

(1) Any Malay legal officer of the Federal Government and any Malay Legal practitioner in possession of a valid "Practising Certificate" issued udner the Legal Profession Act 1976 may appear and represent any aprty in any Court.

(2) Other than the Legal Officers and legal practitioners mentioned in subsection (1) any Muslim Legal practitioner whether or not registered under the Legal Profession Act 1976 or any person professing the Religion of Islam, who may be considered qualified by the Majlis, may also appear and represent any party in any Court.

(3) Save the prsons mentioned in subsection (1) every person mentioned in subsection (2) shall possess a certificate issued by the Majlis and signed by the Yang di-Pertua on payment of the prescribed fee. the certificate shall be called "Sijil Kehadiran".

(4) Sijil Kehadirab issued under subsection (3) shall remain valid for one year from teh date of its issue:

Provided taht the Majlis at any time revoke it.
