ENACTMENT NO. 5 OF 1992 ADMINISTRATION OF THE SYARIAH COURT ENACTMENT 1991
PART III - JURISDICTION OF SYARIAH COURT
Section 9. Jurisdiction of Court of Syariah High Court Judge.
The Court of a Syariah High Court Judge shall :
(1) In its criminal jurisdiction try any offence committed by a Muslim and punishable under this Enactment or any State Islamic Law for which the maximum punishment provided by law does not exceed three thousand ringgit or imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or both any many impose any punishment therefore provided, or make any order as may be provided under any written law.
(2) In its civil jurisdiction, hear and determine all such actions, proceedings and matters as the Court of Chief Syarie Judge is authorised to hear and determine in which the amount or value of the subject matter in dispute does not exceed fifty thousand ringgit or is nor capable of estimation in terms of money.
