PART III - MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE

Section 65. Place of marriage.

(1) Every marriage shall be solemnized in a mukim masjid in which one or both of the parties to the marriage ordinarily resides;

Provided that a Kadhi or a Registrar having jurisdiction in such mukim may give permission for any such marriage to be solemnized elswhere.

(2) Every marriage shall be registered and the fees in respect thereof shall be payable in the place where the marriage was solemnized.
