Section 171. Contempts of religion.

Whoever by words spoken or written or by visible representations insults or brings into contempt or attempts to insult or bring into contempt the Religion of Islam or the tenets of any mudzhab thereof or the teaching of any lawfully authorized religious teacher of any fetua issued under the provisions of this Enactment shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or with fine not exceeding five hundred dollars.
