Section 185. Use of statement to absolve from responsibility.

Any Muslim who states that he has ceased to be a Muslim with the intention to absolve himself from his responsibility as a Muslim towards any person as required by Hukum Syara’

shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both.
