Section 83. Repair and supervision of mosque.

(1) It shall be the duty of the Majlis to repair from time to time as may be necessary and to have proper care of all mosques in the State. The Majlis may raise and apply or authorise the raising and application of special donations for such purposes or may pay the cost required for the same out of the General Administration Fund.

(2) The pegawai masjid shall inform the Majlis promptly when there is a need for urgent repairs to a mosque in his charge and shall supervise any such repairs as agent on behalf of the Majlis.

(3) No material alteration to the structure of the mosque shall be made without the permission in writing of the Majlis.

(4) The President may direct or give permission for the repair of any mosque without altering its original structure.
