Section 61. Charge.

(1) The charge shall be framed by the prosecutor or by the Court and shall contain such particulars of the offence alleged as are reasonably sufficient to give the accused notice of the matter with which he is charged. More offences than one may be charged in different counts and tried together if arising out of the same transaction. More persons than one may be charged and tried together for the same or different offences if committed in the course of the same transaction.

(2) Any charge may be amended or altered or added to by the Court at any time before judgment is pronounced, but the accused shall be given full opportunity to cross­examine or give or call further evidence to meet the new charge.

(3) A person charged with an offence may be convicted of an attempt to commit that offence.
