ENACTMENT NO. 10 OF 1996 CONTROL OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS ENACTMENT 1996
PART VI - INSPECTOR OF SCHOOL
Section 19. Appointment and duties of Inspector.
(1) The Majlis shall appoint such number of persons as Inspectors as may be necessary for the purposes of this Enactment.
(2) All Inspectors appointed under subsection (1) shall be subject to the direction and control of the Registrar and shall have the following duties:
(a) to carry out from time to time the inspection of school in all aspects, including curriculum of education, teaching or training, holding of examinations, conducting teacher's training programmes, or other activities conducted, the use of textbooks, qualifications and performance of the staff of the school;
(b) to ascertain whether the requirements of this Enactment and the Rules made thereunder, the directions and guidelines of the Majlis, and the Registrar are being complied with;
(c) to inspect the accounts and ascertain whether they are properly maintained and all monies received and expenditure made reflected therein and accounted for accordingly, and the items of such monies received and expenditure made are in accordance with the requirements of this Enactment and the Rules made thereunder or the direction of the Registrar;
(d) to inspect the minutes of the meetings of the Board and ensure that the procedure under section 14 have been complied with; and
(e) to carry out such other inspection or investigation in relation to the schools as may be directed by the Majlis or the Registrar.
(3) The Inspector shall submit a report to the Registrar regarding the school inspected by him and may make any comments he thinks appropriate in the report.
(4) The report submitted under subsection (3) is a confidential document but the Yang Dipertua may at his discretion upon a written request supply it to the Board concerned.
(5) For the purpose of exercising the powers under this Enactment, an Inspector may be assisted by any officer or staff of the Majlis.
