(1) His Royal Highness the Sultan may, on the advice of the Chief Syarie Judge, appoint from amongst members of the general public service of the State, a Chief Registrar of the Syariah Appeal Court, a Registrar of the Syariah High Court and Assistant Registrar of the Syariah Subordinate Courts.
(2) All appointments under this section shall be published in the Gazette.
(3) The Registrars appointed under subsection (1) shall, save as otherwise provided in any written law and direction by the Chief Syarie Judge, have all the powers and duties necessary for the administration of the Courts.
(4) A person who, immediately before the commencement of this section, was holding the post of Chief Registrar of the Syariah Appeal Court, Registrar of the Syariah High Court and Assistant Registrar of the Syariah Subordinate Courts shall, on the commencement of this section, continue to hold his respective post as if he had been appointed under subsection (1).
