PART III - JURISDICTION OF SYARIAH COURT



Section 13. Supervisory and revisionary jurisdiction of Appeal Committee.

In addition to the powers conferred on it by this Enactement or any other written law, the Appeal Committee shall have general power of supervision and revision over the Court of the Chief Syariah High Court Judge and the Court of the Syariah High Court Judge and may in particular, if it appears desirable in the interest of justice, either on its own motion or at the instance of any party or person interested at any stage in any matter or proceeding, whether civil or criminal, in any court of the Chief Syariah High Court Judge or Court of the Syariah High Court Judge, call for and examine any record relating to any such matter or proceeding and may give such direction as justice may require.

(2) Whenever the Appeal Committee calls for such records all proceedings in the Court of the Chief Syarie Judge or the Court of the Syariah High Court Judge, as the case may be, in the matter or proceeding in question shall be stayed until the Appeal Committee makes its decision or issues its order.
