PART III - JURISDICTION OF SYARIAH COURT
Section 10. Jurisdiction of District Kadi.
The Court of District Kadi:
(1) In this criminal jurisdiction, try any offence committed by a Muslim and punishable under this Enactment or any other written law for which the maximum punishment provided by law does not exceed a fine of one thousand ringgit or imprisonment not exceeding six months or both and may impose any punishment therefor provided.
(2) In its civil jurisdiction, hear and determine all such actions and proceedings as the Court of Kadi Besar is authorised to hear and determine, in which the amount or value of the subject-matter in dispute does not exceed ten thousand ringgit or is not capable of estimation in terms of money, except in the matter of the nasab.
