PART IV - PENALTY AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS RELATING TO SOLEMNIZATION AND REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE

Section 29. Onstructing a marriage.

Except as otherwise provided in section 10, a person who uses any force or threat-

(a) for the purpose of forcing another person to marry against his consent; or

(b) to prevent a person who has attained the age of eighteen years from marrying lawfully,

is guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to an imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or both.
