Section 220. Power to compound.

The Commissioner or any officer of the Department specially authorized in writing in that behalf by the Commissioner may compound any offence listed in the Third Schedule by collecting from the person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum of money not exceeding one quarter the amount of fine prescribed for the offence.
