PART III - THE APPOINTMENT OF THE MUFTI, AUTHORITY IN RELIGIOUS MATTERS, THE FATWA COMMITTEE AND FATWA RELATING TO MATTER OF NATIONAL INTEREST

Section 54. Source to be followed

(1) In issuing any fatvva under section 48, or certifying an opinion under section 53, the fatwa Committee shall follow the Al-Quran and or Sunnah Rasulullah Sallallahualaihi Wassalam.

(2) In issuing a fatwa under this Part, the Majlis and Fatwa Committee shall have due regard to the Adat Istiadat Melayu or Malay Customary Law applicable in the State of Perlis.
