Section 108. Search warrant.

(1) A Qadi, when satisfied on written information given to him by affirmation and after such inquiry as he thinks necessary, that there is reason to believe that an offence under this Enactment has been committed or will be committed in any place or building, may by warrant in the prescribed form authorize any police officer not below the rank of lnspector or any officer named in the warrant, with such assistance as the officer thinks necessary, by night or by day, to enter and search the place or building and arrest any person found committing the offence in or near the place or building.

(2) Whoever in giving written information by affirmation under subsection (1) makes a statement which he knows or believes to be false or does not believe to be true commits an offence.

(3) A search warrant under this section shall only be valid within fourteen days from the date of issue thereof.

(4) The provisions of section 107 (2), (3), and (4) shall apply with the necessary modifications to a person arrested under this section.
