Section 72. Examination of complainant.
(1) When a Syariah Judge takes cognisance of an offence on complaint, the Syariah Judge shall at once examine the complainant upon oath as in Form 8 set out in the Schedule and the substance of the examination shall be reduced to writing and shall be signed by the complainant and also by the Syariah Judge.
(2) This section shall not apply to a complaint of an offence where a summons is applied for in a summons case made by any Religious Enforcement Officer acting in his official capacity.
