Iqrar



Section 17. Definition of iqrar.

(1) An iqrar is a statement, oral, written or using gesture, made by a person that he is under some obligation to another person in respect of some right of that person against him and which is made by any person under any of the circumstances hereinafter mentioned.

(2) An iqrar made outside Court may only be accepted if it is made before two adil witnesses.

(3) An iqrar of an agent, in proceedings on behalf of his principal, made before a Judge, may be accepted.

(4) An iqrar in case of adultery shall be accepted is made before the Court.
