PART IV - PENALTIES AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SOLEMNIZATION AND REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGES
Section 35. Interference with marriage.
Unless permitted under Hukum Syara', any person who uses any force or threat -
(a) to compel a person to marry against his will;
(b) to prevent a man or a woman who has attained the age of puberty from contracting a valid marriage,
commits an offence and shall on conviction be punished with a fine not exceeding one thousandringgit or with imprisonment not exceeding six months or with both such fine and imprisonment.
