Section 221. Supervision of officers.

(1) It shall be the duty of the Chief Qadi every month to make inquiry so as determine the day on which the new moon of the following month may be seen and to make inquiry, on the day so determined, as to whethe or not the new moon in fact appeared and then to certify under his hand the result of his inquiry.

(2) The Chief Qadi shall then forthwith transmit the information mentioned is subsection (1) to the Commissioner for transmission to His Royal Higness the Sultan.

(3) It shall be an irrebuttable presumption of law that the law moon in question was been on the date certified by the Chief Qadi.
