ENACTMENT No. 8 Of 1988 CONTROL OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS ENACTMENT 1988
PART I - PRELIMINARY
Section 2. Interpretation.
In this Enactment unless the context otherwise requires:
"Board" meanas the Board of Management established under section 5 of this Enactment;
"Islamic School" means any Islamic Religious School in the State or any place which includes a mosque, madrasah, surau, Islamic centre, balai Islam, pondok and kindergarten where twenty or more persons are enlisted to learn or to be taught subjects which include any subject relating to the religion of Islam but does not include any Islamic religious school under the control of the Ministry of Education;
"Majlis" means the Majlis Agama Islam, Kedah Darulaman constituted under section 4 of the Administration of Muslim Law Enactment, 1962 [Enactment 9/1962];
"Pengarah Pendakwa" means State Legal Adviser, Kedah Darulaman;
"Registrar" means the Registrar appointed under section 3 of this Enactment, and includes the Deputy Registrar;
"Religious School Inspector" means an Inspector appointed under section 17 of this Enactment;
"The Lembaga" means a body set up by the Majlis to be known as "the Lembaga Penasihat Penyelarasan Pelajaran dan Pendidikan Agama Islam".
