Section 85. Limitation of powers of guardian appointed by Court.
(1) A guardian of the property of an infant appointed by Court shall not without leave of the Court-
(a) sell, charge, exchange or otherwise part with the possession of any of the movable or immovable property of the infant; or
(b) lease any land belonging to the infant for a term exceeding one year.
(2) Any guardian of the property of an infant appointed by Court who contravenes any provision of this section commits an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or imprisonment fora term not exceeding six months or both and the Court may in addition to the sentence passed, order the person convicted of such offence to pay to the infant a compensation not exceeding the value of the infant's property.
(3) The Court shall not make any order under subsection (2) unless it is necessary or advisable in the interests of the infant.
