PART VII - OFFENCES

Section 217. Printing publishing, distributing, or posses-sing prohibited publication.

(1) Whoever, without any valid reason, prints, publishes, distributes, or has in his possession, any book, sound-recording record or tape, document, pamphlet, film, video record, or other material of like nature that has been declared under section 27 as prohibited publication commits an offence and shall be punished with a fine not exceeding three thousand ringgit or with imprisonment not exceeding one year or with both.

(2) The Court shall order any book, soundrecording record or tape, document, pamphlet, film, video record, or other material which is the subject of an offence under subsection (1) to be destroyed or otherwise disposed of as the court thinks fit.
