PART II - GENERAL



Section 8. Advocate.

(1) The Majlis may in its discretion admit any person or advocate and solicitor registered under the Legal Profession Act 1978, and having sufficient knowledge in the Islamic law to represent any party in any hearing before the Court.

(2) Subject to the provisions of sub-section (1) any person admitted to represent any party may, on payment of the fees as prescribed by the Majlis be registered as an advocate of this Court.

(3) Any person or advocate representing any party in the proceeding before the Court may be prohibited from representing any party henceforth if the Court is of the opinion that he is no longer fit to represent that party.

(4) For the purpose of sub-section (3) above the Majlis may withdraw basing on the opinion of the Court the permission given under sub-section (1) and all the payment made by any of the person or advocate shall be deemed to be forfeited.

(5) The Majlis may, from time to time make rules regulating, controlling and supervising the conduct of any person or advocate permitted to represent any party in the proceeding before the Court and impose fees relating thereto.
