PART II - MAJLIS AGAMA ISLAM DAN ADAT MELAYU PERAK

Section 6. Authority Majlis in matters of religion and Malay Custom.

(1) The Majlis shall aid and advise Duli Yang Maha Mulis Sultan in respect to all matters relating to the Religion of Islam, except matters of Hukum Syara' and those relating to the administration of justice, and in all such matters shall be the chief authority in the State of Perak Darul Ridzuan after Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan axcept where otherwise provided in this Enactment.

(2) The Majlis shall also aid and advise Duli Yang Maha Mulis Sultan in respect of all matters relating to the Malays Custom.

(3) The Majlis shall advise Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan in all matters relating to any commutation, suspension or remission of any sentence passed by any Court;

Provided that this subsection shall not affect the right of Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan to exercise his preropgative of pardon and mercy.
