PART IV - MOSQUE AND PLACE OF WORSHIP

Section 64. Appointment of mosque officials.

(1) For every mosque in the State of Perak Darul Ridzuan there shall be appointed one or more, according to requirement, Imam, Bilal and Siak as mosque officials.

(2) The Imam and Bilal shall be appointed by the Majlis from among persons who are qualified and the Siak shall be appointed by the Jawatankuasa Kariah.

(3) In the event of a vacancy in the post of Imam or Bilal by reason of death, resignation or other cause, it shall be the responsibility of the Jawatankuasa Kariah to inform the Majlis.

(4) Upon the commencement of this section, every person who, immediately before that commencement, was a mosque official shall be deemed to have been duly appointed under this section to be such mosque official and shall, subject to section 65, continue to hold office as such.
