Section 196. Neglect of statutory duty.

Whoever, being charged by this Enactment with the duty of registering any matter or proceeding, or making, preparing, keeping, orl maintaining any register of payments, book of account, estimate of income or expenditure, register, counterfoil book, minute book, or account of charitable collection, or of issuing any certificate, receipt, or certified copy, refuses or neglects to perform the duty commits an offence and shall be punished with a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or with imprisonment not exceeding six months or with both.
