PART VII - GUARDIANSHIP Guardianship of Person and Property
Section 97. Limitation of powers of guardian appointed by Court.
(1) A guardian of the property of a minor appointed by the Court shall not, without the leave of the Court-
(a) sell, charge, mortgage, exchange, or otherwise part with the possession of any movable or immovable property of the minor; or
(b)lease any land belonging to the minor for a term exceeding one year.
(2) Failure to comply with an order made under this section shall be punishable as a contempt of Court and the Court may in addition to the sentence passed order the person convicted of such offence to any to the minor a compensation not exceeding the value of the minor's property.
(3) The Court shall not make any order under subsection (2) unless it is necessary or advisable in the interests of the minor.
