PART I - PRELIMINARY

Section 2. Interpretation.

In this Enactment unless the context otherwise requires.

"advocate" has the same meaning assigned thereto in the Administration of Syariah Court Enactment 1982 [3/82];

"bailiff" includes any clerk, interpreter, process server or other officer of the court charged with performing the duties of a bailiff;

"certified translation" means a translation of a document certified as correct by the Court;

"Court" has the same meaning assigned thereto in the Administration of Syariah Court Enactment 1982;

"lien" means any right to the property belonging to the debtor to the extent as to the amount in debt;

"minor" means children under the age 18 years;

"notice" means written notice unless the court in any case otherwise orders;

"proceeding" includes applications and claims;

"Qadhi" has the same meaning assigned thereto in the Administration of Syariah Court Enactment 1982 [3/82];

"Qadhi Besar" has the same meaning assigned thereto in the Administration of Syariah Court Enactment 1982 [3/82];

"Registrar" has the same meaning assigned thereto in the Administration of Syariah Court Enactment 1982 [3/82]].
