ENACTMENT No. 1 Of 1984 ISLAMIC FAMILY ENACTMENT 1979
PART I - PRELIMINARY
Section 4. Marriage subsisting shall be deemed to be registered under this Enactment and may be dissolved only under this Enactment.
(1) Nothing in the Enactment shall affect the validity of any Islamic marriage solemnized under any law wherever situate before the date of conimencement of
this Enactment.
(2) The marriage referred to, if valid under the law under which it is solemnized shall be deemed to be registered under the provisions of this Enactment.
(3) Every such marriage, unless not recognised under the law under which it is solemnized, shall subsist until dissolved by-
(a) the death of any spouse;
(b) any talak as pronounced in accordance with the provisions of this Enactment; or
