Section 114. Sentence of imprisonment.
(1) The Court passing a sentence of imprisonment shall send the prisoner in the custody of a police officer or one of the Court's officers to the prison and deliver him to the officer in charge of the prison together with a warrant for his confinement and shall be confined accordingly.
(2) If the prisoner has been imprisoned pending trial, the period already spent in prison may, if the Court so orders, be treated as part of the period to be served under the sentence.
(3) The Court may grant bail pending an appeal, but if the appeal is not prosecuted with due diligence, the Court may order rearrest and the sentence shall be carried out.
(4) A sentence of imprisonment may be imposed for failure to pay any fine, but no sentence of imprisonment so imposed shall exceed one-half of the term of imprisonment, if any, provided for the offence, or fourteen days, if the offence is punishable with fine only.
