(1) A defendant who disputes the whole or part of his liability in any claim, may-
(a) at any time before the return date, serve on the plaintiff a defence; or
(b) appear on the return date and dispute the plaintiff's claim.
(2) Where a defendant appears in Court and disputes the plaintiff's claim, the Court may order him to serve a defence within such time and on such terms as it considers desirable.
(3) A defence shall be in FormMS 15.
(4) In this section, "return date" means the first date fixed by the Court at the time of issuing the summons or application for appearance.
