PART IX - PENALTIES
Section 126. Illicit inter-course between divorced persons.
(1) Any man who, having lawfully divorced his wife, resumes cohabitation with her without having pronounced a lawful ruju' commits an offence and shall on conviction be punished with a fine not exceeding five hundred ringgit or with imprisonment not exceeding three months or with both such fine and imprisonment.
(2) If his wife was not at the time of resumption of cohabitation aware of the occurrence of the divorce, the man commits an offence and shall on conviction be punished with a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or with imprisonment not exceeding six months or with both such fine and imprisonment.
(3) Any woman who abets an offence under subsection (1) commits an offence and shall on conviction be punished with a fine not exceeding five hundred ringgit or with imprisonment not exceeding three months or with both such fine and imprisonment.
