(1) There shall be a Fatwa Committee of the Majlis comprising the Mufti and not more than three ulamas from among the members of the Majlis and not less than four other suitable and proper persons either from the Majlis or otherwise, to be appointed by His Royal Highness by notification in the Gazette for a specified period and given a Tauliah under his Sign Manual and Seal.

(2) His Royal Highness the Sultan may at any time revoke any such appointment by notification in the Gazette.

(3) The Mufti shall be the chairman of the Fatwa Committee and in his absence any other member chosen by the members present shall act as chairman.

(4) Five members of the Fatwa Committee shall constitute a quorum for the conduct of meetings.

(5) Subject to any written law, the Fatwa Committee shall have power to regulate its own procedure.
