Section 147. Order to take further evidence
(1) In dealing with any appeal under this Chapter, the Syariah High Court, if it thinks additional evidence to be necessary, may either take such evidence itself or direct it to be taken by the Syariah Subordinate Court.
(2) When the additional evidence is taken by the Syariah Subordinate Court, it shall certify such evidence to the Syariah High Court which shall thereupon, as soon as may be, proceed to dispose of the appeal.
(3) Unless the Syariah High Court otherwise directs, the accused or his Peguam Syarieshall be present when the additional evidence is taken.
