PART II - THE MAJLIS AGAMA ISLAM NEGERI PULAU PINANG

Section 12. Appointment of the Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary

(1) The Majlis may appoint any officer from the Islamic Religious Department of the State of Penang as the Deputy Secretary and such number of Assistant Secretaries as may be deemed necessary by the Majlis.

(2) The Deputy Secretary shall, subject to the direction and control of the Secretary, have all the powers and may perform all duties of the Secretary under this Enactment and shall in the absence of the Secretary, act as the Secretary.

(3) An Assistant Secretary shall, subject to the direction and control of the Secretary and Deputy Secretary, assist the Secretary and Deputy Secretary in the performance of their powers and duties.
