PART V - OF APPEAL AND REVISION CHAPTER 17 - OF APPEALS TO THE SYARIAH HIGH COURT
Section 144. Order to take further evidence.
(1) In dealing with any appeal under this Chapter the Syariah High Court, if it thinks additional evidence to be necessary, may either take such evidence itself or direct it to be taken by the Syariah Subordinate Court.
(2) When the additional evidence is taken by Syariah Subordinate Court it shall certity such evidence to the Syariah High Court which shall thereupon, as soon as may be, proceed to dispose of the appeal.
(3) Unless the Syariah High Court otherwise directs, the accused or his peguam syarie shall be present when the additional evidence is taken.
