Section 73. Zakat and fitrah.

(1) The Majlis shall have power to collect zakat and fitrah which are payable in the State of Perak darul Ridzuan in accordance with Hukum Syara':

Provided that this provision is only enforceable after a resolution to that effect has been passed by the Majlis and approved by Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan and published in the Gazette.

(2) Notwithstanding the provision of subsection (1) the Majlis may receive any payment made for the purpose of zakat.
