ENACTMENT NO. 12 OF 1986 ADMINISTRATION OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS ENACTMENT 1986
PART III- SYAR'IAH COURTS
Section 28. Appointments.
(1) His Royal Highness the Sultan may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint any suitable persons to be-
(a) the Chairman of the Syar'iah Appeal Court;
(b) the Chief Qadi and Deputy Chief Qadi for the State; and
(c) Qadis for such areas as may be prescribed.
(2) His Royal Highness the Sultan shall grant a Tauliah to the Chairman of the Syar'iah Appeal Court, the Chief Qadi, the Deputy Chief Qadi, and the Qadis aforesaid and may impose any condition in the Tauliah, particularly as regards the limits on the exercise of any power to be conferred.
(3) His Royal Highness the Sultan may revoke any appointment made under subsection (1) and such revocation shall be notified in !th Gazette.
(4) The jurisdiction of the Chief Qadi, Deputy Chief Qadi, or a Qadi shall be as prescribed by this Enactment or by any other written law.
