PART II - GENERAL PROVISIONS AS TO CRIMINAL COURT CHAPTER 3 - OF ARREST, ESCAPE AND RE-ARREST
Section 17. Arrest without warrant.
Without prejudice to the provisions of any other written law, any Religious Enforcement Officer or police officer may, without an order from a Syariah Judge and without a warrant, arrest-
(a) any person who has been concerned in any seizable offence in the State of Perak Darul Ridzuan or against whom a reasonable complaint has been made or credible information has been received or a reasonable suspicion exists of his having been so concerned;
(b) any person who has committed or attempted to commit in the presence of such officer any oofence involving a breach of the peace;
(c) any person who has committed in the presence of such officer an offence and who refuses on the demand of such officer to give his name and residence or gives his name or residence which such officer has reason to believe to be false or gives his address as his residence a place not within the State of Perak Darul Ridzuan; or
(d) any person against whom a warrant issued under this Code is still in force, although such warrant is not in his possession.
