ENACTMENT NO. 7 OF 1993 ADMINISTRATION OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS ENACTMENT OF THE STATE OF PENANG 1993
PART II - THE MAJLIS AGAMA ISLAM NEGERI PULAU PINANG
Section 4. Establishment of the Majlis
(1) There shall be a body to be known as the "Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Pulau Pinang", to advise the Yang di - Pertuan Agong in matters relating to the religion of Islam.
(2) Upon the coming into force of this section, the "Majlis Agama Islam Pulau Pinang and Seberang Perai" existing by virtue of section 4 of the administration of Muslim Law Enactment, 1959 (En.3/1959)shall be deemed to be the Majlis referred to in subsection (1).
(3) The Majlis shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and a corporate seal, and the said seal may from time to time be broken, altered, changed, and made anew as to the Majlis seems fit, and until a seal is provided under this section, a stamp bearing the inscription the "Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Pulau Pinag" may be used as the corporate seal.
(4) The Majlis may sue and be sued in its corporate name.
(5) Notwithstanding any provision contained in this Enactment, the Majlis shall have power to act as an executor of a will or as an administrator of the estate of a deceased person or as a trustee of any trust.
(6) The Majlis shall have such further powers and carry out such duties as may by this Enactment or by any other law be assigned to it.
